Welcome!

Hi everyone (at least I hope there are a few people reading this!),

2008 holds a big resolution for me -- building a successful new business. I run AFP Interiors, LLC, an interior redesign, staging and decorating business.

I'm all about decorating, design, color, furniture, paint and art and making it all function together in my home and for my clients. I've never met a room I didn't remember; it's a blessing and a curse. I'm excited to share my passion with others and hope to have some great chats about design for living.

To me that means we have to LIVE in our homes, not just make them look nice. How can we make our homes look good and function even better? Whether it's living with kids, pets, roommates or a combination of all three, it's possible. How do you make it work? What do you need help with?

I'll share my best practices for home decorating, how to work with and around obstacles and how to have fun doing it.

Happy decorating....
April

Hi! Love your layout, it's cute! Here are my suggestions for topics, because these are things I need help with!

Storing toddler toys--I live in small townhouse w/out a finished basement or playroom for my daughter. Our living room is taken over! Are there any toy storage solutions that are appropriate for an adult living room?

I also need a simple storage idea for my daughter's closet. It's under-utilized right now and could be better used to store toys.

Good luck with the blog!

Starting your own business is so exciting (and scary!). But I know you'll be great at this--it's a great fit for you!

We have issues with grown-up books. We have several book shelves that look overflowing and messy. Plus, my husband keeps his textbooks between the recliner and the wall-not a good look. I would especially like ideas on how to manage his mess with something that will fit in a very small space and will blend in somewhat.

Hi! Another topic suggestion: Jewelry storage. I have tons of it--most of it not valuable, just "fashion" jewelry--but I love it all and want to keep it. Several jewelry boxes can't contain it, and I don't have room for or like the look of the huge furniture-type jewelry boxes. So the challenge: A pretty jewelry storage solution.
